How To Use
- Open daily, 10 am–5:30 pm Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
- Business hours may vary, please check the official website before your visit: https://www.amnh.org/plan-your-visit/hours. The museum has multiple entrances. The Rose Center for Earth and Space on 81st Street and the Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation on 79th Street and Columbus Avenue typically have shorter wait times. Note: All visitors must pass through security checkpoints and may experience wait times before entering. Some exhibitions may temporarily close, so we recommend checking the attraction's official website before your visit, though actual availability is subject to on-site conditions.
- Effective October 1, 2024, the American Museum of Natural History will no longer require reservations, and visitors will no longer need to present museum reservation vouchers. Visitors can enter the museum with our e-tickets, which will be exchanged for admission tickets at the museum entrance.
- Proceed through security to an admission desk at any of the Museum’s entrances. Note you may experience a brief waiting period to clear security, entrances at the Rose Center for Earth and Space at 81st Street and the Gilder Center at 79th and Columbus Avenue usually have shorter wait times.
- Your purchase General + One special exhibition, which you must select upon arrival at the Museum. If you purchase General Admission and wish to add additional ticketed exhibitions, you can do so for $10 per person per exhibition.
- The Museum encourages you to arrive as close to your ticketed time as possible, however the Museum is usually able to accommodate early or late arrivals.
- The Butterfly Conservatory at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) will be closed for maintenance from September 8 to September 20.

What if you miss the appointed time or departure date?
Once the booking is confirmed, an absence or failure to show up on the scheduled date or time is a no-show. No refunds or reschedules will be issued for no-shows and late arrivals.
Other important information
- Facial coverings are strongly recommended for all visitors ages 2 and up.
- The best time to visit the museum is before noon on weekends when it's least crowded.
- Once you place your order, our system will confirm it immediately and there is no cancellation and modification. The ticket is valid in the whole year before you use.
- No photography will be allowed in space theater.
- You can easily lose track of time in the massive American Museum of Natural History. It’s possible to spend an entire day here and still not see everything there is to see! Give yourself as much time as you can and check out exhibits online beforehand to plan out an itinerary.
- New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut residents (with ID): The amount you pay for General Admission only is up to you.

Ability to visit places at cheaper costs especially when you're a tourist is a blessing !
I bought the American history museum tickets on Passforless. After paying, I received e-voucher and redeemed it at the ticket office without any problems. I saw some reviews complaining about customer service if you want to refund or make some changes. Yet, if you know for sure you are not gonna make any changes, why not get a better price.
